Send an email to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.ICORS.ORG (don't spell it wrong, and don't put a dot at the end. 

Leave the Subject line empty

On the first line of the body of the message write:

SUB SFT-L Yourfirstname YourSecondName

(don't add anything. No dots, nothing. The line should thus read: SUB SFT-L John Doe) or whatever your name is.

Nothing else in the message is needed.

You have to answer the confirmation request that will arrive to the adress you sent the email from within 24 hours (most often the confirmation request arrives within less than one minute), and after that you're on. Please read the welcome-message carefully and save it for future reference.

When this doesn't work, the most common error is that the REPLY-TO field of your mailer is not configured the way it should be. The Listserv program reads your address from that field, that's why you don't have to put it in your subscription request.

The list has been open to everyone since it started - and it will stay that way until there is a very good reason to change it.
