Peter Szabo is a Master Certified Coach and a Doctor
of Law. With 20 years of corporate HR management experience he has
specialized in Brief Coaching for Executives.
He is Director of Solutionsurfers, the largest coach
training institute in Switzerland and rapidly expanding worldwide. Peter
is one of the pioneers in bringing the solution-focused paradigm change
to coaching and teaches post graduate courses at several Universities
throughout Europe and North America. He is a brilliant and imaginative
trainer, and is a highly regarded member of the ICF (International Coach
Federation) coach accreditation panel. Peter is co-author with Insoo Kim
Berg of Brief Coaching for Lasting Solutions, maybe the most
remarkable book on coaching today.

Sometimes coaches are called on to achieve lasting
results within a limited period of time. And sometimes coaches are
surprised by clients’ ability in creating desired progress sustainably
and fast.
Since the 1980’s the Solution-Focused approach has
provided major success in supporting such brief and lasting change. In
recent years this trend has been reinforced by concepts like Positive
Psychology, Appreciative Inquiry, Positive Deviants and recent brain
research results. They all underline the seemingly counter-intuitive
paradigm shift: that focusing on existing and desired solutions, and
thus asking solution-focused questions, produces sustainable results
even without necessarily analyzing and addressing the underlying root
causes of the problem. The Model provides coaches with the choice of
using solution-building questions as a valid alternative to
problem-solving methods.
Peter has a doctorate in law and is the director of Brief Coach
Trainings at Solutionsurfers International.
He holds the ICF's Master Certified Coach certificate (MCC).
Peter has trained over 1000 Coaches since 1997 and teaches post-graduate
courses in coaching at several European universities. In his private
practice he coaches both individual and corporate clients on management
and life issues. He has been a member of the ICF Credentialing Committee
since 2002. Peter's latest publication with Insoo Kim Berg is
